KKR Capstone Bolsters Asia Team With A Senior Hire In China

KKR Capstone, the executive team that works in partnership with US investment firm KKR, has announced a senior appointment for its China arm. Effective immediately, Matthew Chang joins as managing director in China, after serving as global senior partner for the Asian operations and restructuring practises of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Shanghai. In his new role, Chang will led the group's engagement with KKR's portfolio companies in the country. is a group of executives and specialists that works alongside KKR's private equity investment professionals and portfolio company management teams to help maximize business potential, according to a statement by the firm. It is particularly involved in sustainability initiatives. The latest appointment strengthens KKR Capstone's Asia-Pacific team, which has also recently made senior appointments in India, with the joining of Akhil Puri in August 2012 as director, and Japan, with Sakae Suzuki stepping in as director in March 2013. The group now has over 50 professionals globally and 18 across the Asia-Pacific region.
